Opera on the Avenue

The Arch Social Club , 2426 Pennsylvania Ave , Baltimore, MD 21217

TICKETED EVENING PERFORMANCE: 7:30pm-9:30pm

Join us for the culmination of the first phase of Opera on the Avenue! The free day-long festival will feature live performances, food, community vendors, and activities for kids. The highlight of the event will be a ticketed premiere performance* created by soprano and writer Adrienne Danrich, focused on the story of African-American opera singer Anne Wiggins Brown, the first Bess in Gershwin’s iconic opera Porgy and Bess. Ms. Brown grew up in Old West Baltimore, just two blocks from the Arch Social Club where her father was a prominent early member. Ticket prices and levels are the same as concert operas at the Engineers Club, and subscribers will receive a 10% discount.

*Accessibility at the Arch Social Club is currently limited. The evening performance on October 8th is on the second floor of the building with no current elevator access. While accessibility at the Arch Social Club will be fully operational in the future once their renovation is complete, we are unable to provide accessible entry this year.
